What I find particularly frustrating is how easily Eliana is swayed by the words of strangers, and the number of damn times she needs to be reassured before she understands that her love with Chris is mutual, and that as his fiancée, she has every right to speak up and put the likes of Sharon in their place for stepping out of line like that.

I don’t think it’s necessarily contradictory because you can be extremely smart but still have very low self esteem, but it really is a bit overused in this show.

Can't we just banish the little girl from the palace for 5 years? She's 10 now so I'm guessing by the time she's 15, she might know how to behave better. People have been beheaded for less than what she said to Eli here. I think it's a reasonable punishment.
I'm not that mad about her. She's 10. She heard a fairy tale way too many times and decided to take it as truth for Chris and her sister. That's fine. But she did overstep her boundaries with Eli and needs to be punished because it's a grave offence to the future queen.
What I'm mad about is Eli. We have already known, because he told her, that he loves Eli. So much so he had to convince the whole royal family and nobility to accept her so he could marry her. There is no love story between him and Mireila lol MAYBE Mireila liked him more than a childhood friend. Maybe. But he always only had eyes for Eli so the only question is "Should Mireila become a concubine to increase chances of get an heir to the throne?" But Eli is not in the way of any love story at all and she should know it for a fact. I sympathize with the pressure she is feeling because it is coming from all places but that was the ONE thing she shouldn't be bothered by!

Eliana is a straight child in the sense that she doesn't know how to read between the lines because that's not learnt when you read a book it's when we interact with others that we learn to read between the lines and "defend" or "attack". Therefore, she takes everything at face value: what is said or not around her and the lack of contact she had during this period of time with the prince makes the matters worse from her perspective

Eli is pretty... but I don't like her personality. Whatta f00kin' doormat! She needs to read more stories about people fighting back and speaking their mind. She should read Black Lagoon... maybe learn a thing or two from Revy.

I don't think Black Lagoon has been exported to their kingdom, yet. XD
